Why Start Saving Now?
Saving for Retirement
The earlier you begin saving tax-deferred, the better. The Department of Labor estimates that for every 10 years you delay saving for retirement, you will need to save up to three times as much each month to earn the same amount.1As American lifespans lengthen, careful retirement planning takes on added importance. The Department of Labor estimates that workers who retire now at age 55 can expect to live, on average, 23 to 27 years in retirement. The challenge is how to accumulate wealth during your working years and distribute that money during retirement to help make sure the money doesn't run out.The annuity is the only financial instrument that offers tax deferral and a guaranteed income stream at retirement, regardless of the contract value. These are payments you cannot outlive, backed by the claims-paying ability of the insurer.
